The Oracle

She sat over a spring, this goddess,

 this Greek woman of Delphi

with flowing hair,

And they gathered around,

and listened,

as she took in the vapors,

perfumed in everything.

Carl Jung cast the coins,

and read the hexagrams,

of this great energy,

that is the I-Ching.

All of his amazing genius,

knew how to honor the gift of ancient China.

The Vikings read the runes

And they all knew how to erect a temple to Venus

Goddess as she is, the second brightest planet in the night sky.

The ancient Babylonians, observed all they saw, and tracked the stars,

so much so, that today, I can call myself Libra.

All of it so, that I could be here tonight,

After this hot bath, the steam rising,

and slipping in to what this woman knows.

North, South, East, West,

ancient and now,

it all meets in my heart

Maybe it isn’t the answer that counts,

Maybe it is what came from within,

And dared to ask the question.   Maybe it is just our way of getting through,

whatever clouded up,

what we always knew

I tossed the coins,

And it was always love.

Happy meditating,

-S
