This is how my body moves

Inhale, exhale,

Wiggle each and every toe.

One not more than the other,

And not less.

   This is my body

And this is how it moves.

I breathe in,

I breathe out,

Move my head side to side,

Tilt it to the back to feel the sun,

And to the front,

I bow to my heart.

This is my body,

And this is how it moves.

  I wiggle my fingers,

Each and every one,

One not more than the other,

  And not less.

These lines on my palm,

that no one owns but me.

We all have our own,

One not more,

One not less.

And I spread my hands wide on the ground, like stars.

This is my body,

And this is how my body moves.

I lick my lips and honor the movement of my chest as the air comes in, as the air moves out, here in the heat of this back porch.

And how I am so much apart of this sky,

And so much apart of this earth.

This is where we live.

In between two worlds, that meet somehow, in our hearts.

And right in between the eyes.

Only that place never had to ask.

It knows nothing of somehow.

Happy meditating—
